Where to buy cheapest ETC

  1. Calculating from exchange order books…

Effective price is calculated from the order book at the time of viewing, after deducting the exchange's cheapest withdrawal fee on the coin's native network; trading fees are not included. * Exchange does not publish withdrawal fees via API: an estimated fee is used (the median of exchanges that do). Fee schedule by exchange →

On other chains: BNB Smart Chain 0x3d65…c25e

ETC is the native coin of its own network, so it has no contract. Below are ETC versions on other chains issued or wrapped by exchanges (e.g. Binance-Peg), each redeemable 1:1 for ETC as promised by the issuer.

Always double-check the contract address before buying on a DEX or sending tokens. Source: token addresses exchanges (Binance, KuCoin, Bitget, HTX, XT, LBank, WhiteBIT, Poloniex) use for deposits / withdrawals. Arbitrum, Polygon, Base, Optimism: read from the official on-chain bridge contracts and the Superchain token list; addresses published by only one exchange are checked against the token symbol on-chain.

About Ethereum Classic (ETC)

Ethereum Classic (ETC) is a forked version of the Ethereum blockchain that emerged as a result of the DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) attack in 2016. It maintains the pre-fork blockchain history and leverages the same core blockchain technology as Ethereum, including smart contracts and a virtual machine. ETC operates on the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism, ensuring decentralization, security, and immutability, while supporting the development of decentralized applications. ETC’s compatibility with Ethereum’s tools makes it easier for developers to migrate smart contracts between the two chains or create new applications.

ETC continues to uphold its founding principle of immutability, where "Code is Law," rejecting any modifications to the blockchain, even after events like the DAO hack. This strong commitment to the original blockchain philosophy distinguishes Ethereum Classic from Ethereum, which rolled back the chain post-hack.

In January 2024, Ethereum Classic underwent the Spiral Hard Fork at block 19,250,000, which improved the network's scalability and performance. While Ethereum has transitioned to Proof-of-Stake (PoS), Ethereum Classic remains committed to Proof-of-Work (PoW), maintaining its original decentralized mining model.

This combination of immutability and continuous development ensures that ETC remains a prominent player in the blockchain ecosystem, preserving the original vision of a decentralized, unalterable ledger.

CoinXview Risk Score

16/100 · Low

The higher the score, the riskier. We score it ourselves from trading data on 22 exchanges.

How it's scored
  • Liquidity (30%): 24h volume of $500M or more scores 0 risk points, under $50,000 scores 100.
  • Volatility (25%): average daily price swing over 7 days; under 2% scores 0, 15% or more scores 100. Hours where the price jumps more than 40% and immediately comes back (usually a bad price on one exchange) are not counted.
  • Exchanges listed (15%): counted on the 8 core exchanges (Binance, OKX, Bybit, KuCoin, Gate, Bitget, HTX, MEXC): listed on all 8 scores 0, on just 1 scores 100.
  • Cross-exchange spread (15%): the more prices differ across exchanges, the thinner the market; 2% or more scores 100.
  • Price history length (15%): 3+ years of price history scores 0, under 30 days scores 100.
  • Security incident (adds 10 points): the project was hacked for $1 million or more in the past 12 months (DefiLlama data).

This score mainly measures trading risk (how easy it is to buy and sell, how stable the price is), plus a penalty when the project was recently hacked. It does not assess the team or code quality, and not investment advice. A low score does not mean a coin is safe.
