XRP is the native cryptocurrency of the XRP Ledger, a decentralized, open-source blockchain designed for fast and efficient cross-border payments and asset exchange. The XRP Ledger uses a Federated Consensus mechanism where trusted validators agree on transaction order and validity, achieving settlement in 3-5 seconds.
