Mantle Staked Ether (mETH) is a value-accumulating ERC-20 receipt token that represents a user’s claim to both the principal ETH staked and the rewards earned through Ethereum’s proof-of-stake (PoS) validation. Issued by the Mantle Liquidity Staking Protocol (LSP), mETH enables users to participate in ETH staking while retaining liquidity, making it usable across various DeFi applications.
The Mantle LSP is a permissionless and non-custodial ETH liquid staking protocol built on Ethereum Layer 1 and governed by Mantle. It pools ETH deposits from users and delegates them to PoS validators, generating rewards in the form of issuance, priority fees, and maximal extractable value (MEV). These rewards are shared among stakers, the LSP, and node operators, offering users a secure and transparent way to earn yield on their ETH.
By combining a modern and simple design with strong risk management and the resources of the broader Mantle Ecosystem, Mantle LSP delivers a highly efficient staking experience. When users unstake, they receive both their original ETH and the accumulated rewards, highlighting mETH’s role in maximizing yield while maintaining asset flexibility and user ownership.
